ESLR'S Check

1)I have learned how to be an effected learner this year by trying my best on everything that I do. It might be hard but I am not giving up so I will keep doing what I need to get done no matter what it takes.
2)If you do no use your time management skills correctly it will hurt your grade, so i learned to get my work turned it completed and on time. If the work is turned in late then that will affect your grade and I have realized this from experience.
3)I can better myself by not procrastinating on my work and also getting more in depth with my research. I know if I do those things I will have a great second semester because all I want is to prove that I can do this.

Service Learning 10 Hour Progress Check

I take dj lessons at Sam Ash music store from my service learning instructors. On Thursday's I learn how to mix, scratch and match the bmp's of the songs correctly. We also discuss the business side of djing such as, tips, tricks, do's and don'ts. I watch to see what the other dj's do and how they use their skills. On Sundays I work one on one with my other instructor to get more practice and download music.

I go every other Thursday with Dj Teddy G for his mix and scratch sessions from 6:30-8:30pm at Sam Ash music store in the city of industry. The mix and scratch classes are with other amateur dj's and we all work together. Then I also go every other Sunday with Dj Earthquake aka Alvin stingley for additional one on one practice from 1-3pm. I have 2 service learning instructors because they are both very helpful and I believe I get more out of having 2 since they have different ways of teaching. If one of us is not available that day, we will contact one another to reschedule.

I have learned you need to be a responsible dj, which means you have to be on time to your gigs if you are late if shows that you have no time management skills and you are less likely to ever get called back for any more work. You have to make sure you have your music ready because you never know if something technical goes wrong it always best to have a back up external hard drive or laptop. Having all of your equipment set up correctly is also important, there any many things that can go wrong and this is why you want to be there early so you can have a sound check. Another thing I learned was that being unique is a key to success, if you stand out over other dj's and you are not like everyone else more people are going to want to hire you.
